Venue Description:
The Monument Pub is directly opposite the Monument to the Great Fire of London which offers spectacular views across central London. The Monument is a contemporary pub offering traditional pub values with a modern twist. It’s based in the heart of the City and is a great place to relax on a summer’s afternoon or for having a party with friends in our lovely lounge area. During the winter the pub is a welcome retreat from the cold weather, with its cosy atmosphere within its contemporary settings. Although normally closed at weekends The Monument is available for private hire with one of the most competitive minimum spend packages in the city. With tube links just yards away, and train links a few minutes walk the Monument is a great location for birthday parties, corporate functions or private events. Wedding receptions, to speed dating, to discos’, to fund raisers, the Monument is a great place to hold your party.
The Monument is ideal for reserving areas’ during the week as well. We are always very popular for birthday drinks, leaving do’s and team nights out.The superb lounge section is ideal for social events with standing areas and comfy leather sofa’s to relax in. Lunch time reservations are also popular with tables of up to 20 accommodated with ease, and the ability to pre-order your lunch via phone or e-mail for those in a hurry. The Monument has 3 screens showing terrestrial sport such as Wimbledon, Euro & World cup competitions & the Olympics.
Days the whole venue can be booked for exclusive hire, what are the costs and min spends for each day?
Saturday & Sunday £500 to £1500 minimum spend (25% refundable deposit) for late license (up to 3am) £2000 minimum spend (25% refundable deposit). During the week whole venue hire is negotiable dependant on the day and time of year, ranging from £2000-£10000+
Any booking conditions: When booking whole venue for hire during the weekend 25% of the required minimum spend must be paid as a deposit at least 4 days prior to the event. This deposit is fully refundable on the night of the booking. If a late license is requested for a booking we must have sufficient notice to apply for it, so we ask for 20 working days notice.
When booking a free buffet we require 3 days notice for the booking and ask for a ‘goodwill’ deposit of £2 per person. This is fully refundable on the night of the booking. Please ask for full details of this from Jon or Kate when making a booking.

Jon took care of absolutely everything from being available the day before and after for the delivery and collection of the PA equipment, to decorating the pub in the theme of our party. He let us cover the dance floor with straw, and took care of the bales at the end of the night. All his staff even got dressed in fancy dress! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It was all completely perfect. Thank you for your efforts. In finding The Monument. It couldn't have gone better and I have no qualms in offering a personal recommendation.”
